Having lived in Dubai for 15 years and a regular week-end clubber with my wife on almost a weekli basis, I came to the following conclusion: MODIVA DUBAI IS THE WORST CLUB EVER TO EXIST ON PLANET EARTH !!!Oh, we also lived in Hong Kong, London, Paris, Chicago and Johannesburg so I know what I say when I say on planet earth. People, seriously, do not even try and bother thinking of going to such a sleazy and disgusting place. First of all......it is probably the only CLUB in Dubai where parking is HORRIBLE !....before you even get to the gate, valet parking guys jump out from everywhere to take your car well before a HUGE sign that says "Valet parking VIP is AED 300" !!! Heinh....did you say 300 dirhams ???....even the Atlantis clubs (like Ndulge get free parking with proof that you went just inside the club).......anyway...so if you are not as stupid and as balloon-headed guy to want "VIP" parking (Would be good to know the difference....) you give it to the guys....that tell you after they take it, by the way....it is AED 50 regardless if you consume or not !!!!!....bang ! ...scored even without going in !! hahaha........and then the MIGHTY ugly lady in red (as known in Dubai)...a HORRIBLY ARROGANT SELF-CONSCIOUS ILL-MANNERED UGLY tall blonde lady in red with a horrible american accent (no offence ......I am one, but she overdoes it) gives you a grisly cold stare and if you are not a WASP or one of her buddies she would say coldly: ONLY by RESERVATION !!!....now we all know what Modiva is......plenty of "standing" seats.....I can accepts that tables are reserved.....but when you arrive at 11:30 to the club and you know that not even 20 people made it there (inclusive of bartenders)....you would expect that the "standing" capacity is still way from being overbooked....and knowing Dubai, clubs do not start to "shake" until well after 1 am......as a matter of fact I went there with my wife very well dressed to meet a friend who was staying at the Radisson and he could not leave the hotel for health reasons so we had no choice as we all in Dubai knows the reputation of the ;ady in red at the Modiva.....but I thought a couple in their late 40s looking very presentable and well-groomed going to a club of a 5-star hotel at 11:30 pm would more worry about being harassed by young partiers than the door-lady !!!.....after a few sentences with her, we were so disgusted that we went back.....all the while the other men doormen sat listening in amazement to the way she turned us away.....this was the most humiliating episode of my life........to top it all.......the valet parking asked us to pay the AED 50 after they took the car for a 5 mns spin around the block......but the rest of the Modiva staff doormen were soo sorry for us that they intervened in our favor and told the valet service to forget the charge and let us go.........we were just speechless...we drove away to Armani Prive where we spent the rest of the night WITHOUT reservation and of course making sure to tell anyone we know about the HORRIBLE experience we have had at Modiva Dubai.........people, Just do not go there if you have any self esteem.
