After reading the review by eiBeauty and being passionate about Japanese cuisine, I had to try out Katsuya. I must admit I was also curious to see the design of the restaurant, by Starck. The restaurant is located above Symphony and next to Missoni in the Fashion Avenue section. If you were to come by taxi, you should get dropped off near the fountain and the bridge to cross over to Souk Al Bahar. When you enter the restaurant it's a little OTT - they shout "Irasshaimase!" (welcome in Japanese) but it's like the managers have told every single staff member to shout it at you even when you're already half way inside!Anyway, apart from that, the entire experience was pleasant. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the fountains. The servers are all very enthusiastic and friendly and our food came at a timely pace which was nice. I loved the wasabi prawns, the chicken karage (boneless fried chicken) and the Hollywood roll. They don't serve alcohol so it's perfect for lunch. If you love Japanese cuisine, this is a must try!
