It was the first time I set foot inside Burj Al Arab, and as expected, it blew my mind! The decors, elegance, intricate works, poshness- absolutely everything about the hotel boasted of class, and rightly so! Bab Al Yam is Burj Al Arab's poolside cafe restaurant. The dress code is smart casuals and the cuisine is international, charging AED 325 per person. We had opted for the buffet, and was elated seeing the spread. However, as we started tasting the many dishes, it was rather surprising that nothing really stood out in our palates. Ofcourse, everything was delicious, but then, maybe since our expectations were over the roof, we were not too impressed. Not until we started trying the desserts that is! And then suddenly, it all made sense! Mouthwatering assortments of the desserts bowled us over! It was a birthday occasion, and while we were settling down after all the hogging, the restaurant manager along with couple of servers, brought us a chocolate mousse cake, singing the birthday song. It was unexpected and a very sweet gesture. And the cake? HAD to be the BEST tasting cake I've had in a very long time! Chocolate Mousse cake with chocolate brownie base, covered in chocolate ganache...AH!!
