1. We love this fish shack across from the beach. You have to go inside and select which fish you want them to cook for you. It's enought to get the smaller ones if your dining just for two. t may take you awhile to get a table during dinner, but its well worth it for the experience and the food. They fry it up and its delicious and salty.Where else can you get fried seafood like this? Give it a try!

 2. Me and a buddy went her again last night, cant get enough of this place. i think this place is getting more and more popular as time goes on even though its been here for ever. i showed up at 8 and it was slammed packed, definitely get there before 8 (7 would be ideal) if you don't want to wait to long. i usually order the shari (local snapper) but i switched over to the pomfrey and it was delicious. also had added shrimp, curry (spicey), and of course their nan bread. For all you new people to Bu Qtair here are the steps on how to order, it does require a little knowledge or you will get lost: 1) walk into the caravan and get in line 2) when its your turn to order come up to he window where the guy is standing in front of the fish and make your order.there are only 2 things you can order at Bu Qtair, fried fish or fried shrimp.no you cannot have it grilled 4) they usually have 3 fish on the menu: Shari (local snapper), Hammour (local grouper), and Pomfrey. Pick which one you want, don't forget to add shrimp if you want. 5) He will then ask for your name and whether you are eating in or take away. Regardless you have to go wait outside until they call your name. 6) there are little stools out side, sit there until they call your name, when they do they will seat you at a table 7) when they bring you your fish that is the time to ask for curry, bread, rice and whatever you want to drink. 8) after your done just ask for the bill and they will tell you how much u owe.

 3. This place is awesome! Located in a caravan across from the marina, make sure you use the yadig map.You basically walk up, pick which fish you want them to grill or fry and you have the option of adding shrimp. The chef then takes your name and you go and sit down at these plastic tables outside. The fish is caught that day so you know its fresh. They then call your name, bring you your fish, which they then will ask you if you want any curry or bread which i highly recommend you do.

 4. This place can be difficult to find but it's so worth it! This is such a one of a kind cafe where you choose your fish or shrimp and they weight it, fry it up and serve it to you. It's the most simple, basic place that really gives you a feeling what the old Dubai may have been like. 1 large fish, a bowl of shrimp, paratha bread with curry sauce and 3 soft drinks came to just under 100 AED. It was definitely cheaper last year when I went there but still worth the money.

 6. I agree, this place is not all that glamorous. A hidden gem indeed. You have to try while the weather still alllows people to eat outside. The fried prawns are the tastiest, well they were not the juiciest I've tasted, but the flavour of the aromatic spice that tells you they've been marinated to perfection.

 7. I heard from a friend about this place. Your typical fisherman's shack where you won't have any menus. Don't come here expecting for a wonderful attentive service or silverwares. This place is pretty hard to find, if you'll drive down Jumeirah Beach Road with the sea to your right. At the Chalet Cafeteria go right, then turn right again and until down the back road (with the ocean to your left). When you spot a few dhows, a cluster of people and a rundown building, you're at the right place.

 8. Bu Qtair is a fish shack in Umm Sequiem located next to the beach with a perfect view of the Burj Al Arab. You order your seafood from a trailer across from a bunch of fishermen's boats. It's all about the catch of the day. They BBQ or fry fresh fish and shrimps which you eat with your hands (no cutlery provided) while seated on plastic tables and chairs.
