  1. Came in here today and had the salmon bento box and it was good, just enough to fill you up and send you on your way. Price was reasonable to, 56AED. If you come for lunch make sure u come a little early or late, i showed up at one and it was packed.

  2. Came here for a business dinner the other day. Took me about an hour to find the place (and I live 5 mins away disaster lol) its hidden away in the bushes next to the BBC building. My friend warned me of several cases of food poisoning from this particular branch but we went nonetheless. The sushi is awesome - comes in all sorts of shapes I have never seen before, gave me ideas for my own sushi making skills :-) They dont have a great vegi selection - just avocado maki so I went for the bento box which wasnt that great tbh. The tofu tasted weird and I wasnt impressed. It was super busy in here though, service ok. All in all not great for the vegi sushi lover, i was watching my friends eating all sorts of funky triangular shaped sushi and getting a bit jealous that I could not join in with their feast. I can see why seafood eaters prefer this to Yosushi though.

  3. Ordered sumo last night at 430pm. They kindly let me know that maximum it will take is 1.5 hours since they're busy I said ok....I'm only 1 km from their restaurant so I figure that's just precaution..max 1hr makes sense. 2 hours later I call back...they say they'll call the driver and call me back? Ok...that's no longer fresh sushi but ok. They call back in 10 minutes... Tell me it's going to be 20 minutes more... I tell them to please cancel the order because that's not fresh sushi and I've already been very disappointed 2.5 hours is a joke. The manager Melanie agrees. Ten minutes later the guy shows up, asks for the payment...I call Melanie to say I cancelled it...she says "oh we can't call the driver so he came anyway"? But you called him to tell me it was 20 minutes? uhhhh... I tell them to leave. They say sorry for the inconvenience...then 30 more minutes they call back after we've eaten and ordered from somewhere else...that they'd like to deliver the soggy old sushi...for free. After 3 hours I got my sushi. The miso soup wasn't even cold? That means it didn't leave the restaurant until probably 2 hours I ordered... Get some more staff sumo you're big enough come on.

  4. The best bang for your buck in Dubai as far as Sushi goes. Not by all means the best quality but value for money can't be beat. If you have an entertainer book and hit this place with the bento deals, it's a big score. Tuna lover's bento is bomb...not hugely filling but if you throw in a miso soup you should be good for lunch. Order at least 2 hours before you want to eat for delivery... They do not deliver quickly, which is odd considering the food doesn't actually have to be cooked? Should be faster than pizza if you ask me, yet NKD pizza delivers in 30 mins? I've complained about the delivery time before and they promised they were hiring more drivers...this was over 1 year ago and the problem persists but for dinning it it's a great spot...easy parking right there in the BBC building etc. Edamame is good as a starter too. Enjoy.

  5. I always used to like Sumo Sushi until I got really sick from the Jumeirah branch. Still, I thought it was a one off. Went for lunch in the DMC branch recently and I got ill again! This time I didn't even have sushi - I had the salmon teriyaki dish! I'm not sure if they have rigorous hygiene standards or what goes on in their kitchens but I will never eat at any Sumo restaurant again. Really disappointing as I actually used to quite like this place.

  6. Went here for lunch today and it was busy. sushi was actually good and the service was fast. Definitely good spot for lunch...try the salmon bento bowl. This place is located in the BBC building kind behind the those twin towers in media city. if you are still confused look at the geolocation

  7. Had lunch here today. It was packed so we ate at the sushi bar. The sushi is pretty good and it's reasonably priced. Food took 20 mins which is slow for sushi, also they're out of ginger
