The Al Hambra experience is never disappointing. We were a large group, so the set menu at AED 180/person was a requirement. The sangria is very tasty, and the potato bread appetizer is really a wonderful starter. I love the tomato relish and garlic aoli they serve with it. The 6 tapas included gazpacho (a shot of cold tomato soup), garlic shrimp, sautéed mushrooms, crispy calamari, chicken croquets, and patatas bravas. The mushrooms and garlic shrimp were my favorites. The main course of mixed (seafood and chicken) paella was not great. The seafood and chicken were overcooked and it just didn't have a ton of flavor. It was decent, but after all the great tapas, it was a bit of a let down. The dessert was delicious: Creme brûlée with a scoop of lemon sorbeto on top. Other notes: They served Spanish Estrella beer, the service was pretty good and the outdoor atmosphere is quite nice and relaxing. Definitely worth checking out!

Came to Al Hambra last night with some friends and had a good time. We sat outside which was really nice since the weather was good. We ha d a set menu for 180AED that had plenty of starters, a main and desert. The starters were really good…. shrimp, mushroom and some kind of Spanish fried thing. For the main it was paella that they were cooking outside so it was nice to see that but honestly the paella was just ok. If you come here I suggest you sit out, inside is kind of dull while outside is amazing because it is on the water. Overall great atmosphere, quit but nice.

Well....the sangria is a great complement to the night. The tapas: The cheese croquette (crispy, not too oily), shrimps in olive oil and roasted garlic and watery bread was disappointing, Egg (tortilla) was delicious, the melted cheese dip wasn't for me - like super thick fondue that got hard in a couple of minutes. The paella ...should have been the highlight as I was told and recommended. We shared the dish among the four of us (apparently catered and increased for four people) - yet barley had one large spoonful each and that was as much as we could have from the bowl (generous portions? nope). The rice was too oily / buttery...the two prawns were left untouched (I ended up cracking into one but with no luck, no meat). The flavor was bland. I didn't get any satisfaction from the paella. The churros which I was excited to treat into was disappointing. Lacking flavor except of sugar and fried bread. I've tried churros in Dubai Mall (a kiosk downstairs) and they bake the best crispy cinnamon churros in town using extremely good dough and baking technique. The atmosphere outdoors and live band is refreshing but I would head elsewhere for good Spanish food.

Another good experience here last night. We were a table of 5, so we started with 6 tapas and pitcher of sangria. Knowing we would need more food, we ordered another 6 (different) tapas and another pitcher. We were winding down by then, but managed another pitcher. So we tried 12 different dishes and 3 pitchers of sangria, and the total was only AED 150 per person! Great way to try new things, and family style is the way to go when dining with friends. All the pork (chorizo) dishes are good, and they have several with egg, which were also surprisingly good. One of the highlights is also the potato bread with tomato relish and garlic mayo they serve as an appetizer. Very solid outing indeed...

I had a completely brilliant experience here. Had 2 of the Cobone vouchers for 6 tapas and sangria. Service was excellent, food was awesome, and the sangria was tasty. We actually only made it through 6 tapas, so they let us use the other voucher for dessert and another pitcher of sangria. Even without vouchers, you can split 6 tapas and half-liter of sangria for AED 250. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be going back. Go for the calamari, albondigas (meat balls), and chorizo.

so i book a table last night for 8 and they say ," sir we are so sorry but the restaurant is fully booked, come at 10". so i say ok and show up earlier around 930 to find the restaurant totally empty with like 2 tables busy....so we refused to eat there. so then i call tonight and try and book a table at 8 just to see what happens and they say," sorry sir, fully booked, come at 10". WTF....this place blows
