About this business

Native cuisine to the city, served in a relaxed, lounge bar setting. The menu will be designed as a selection of elevated bar food and sharing plates to be nibbled on, alongside drinks throughout the evening. Much like Spanish tapas, only from Belgium, hence the name. As unique as the name may sound, it turns out the Flemish small-plate concept dubbed ‘bapas’ is already popular in Belgium and the Netherlands.

I am a huge fan of Brussels Belgian Bar, huge fan. Man, what is not to like about this place. They have a really cool atmosphere, food is excellent, great beer on tap and it is all reasonably priced. Plus they have great specials like 2 for 1 beers for dudes on monday and 50% of wine bottles on friday and Saturday…how sweet is that!

I ordered the cream and garlic mussels and they were excellent. Not to mention they give you a huge pot of them for 150aed with fries, huge pot. Staff was really friendly and nice and the total bill came out to 350AED. Also thursday ladies drink free of their pink menu which is pink beer, wine and I think champagne….so that was good.

If you have not been to Brussels Belgian Beer bar I suggest you try it, I will definitely be back.

Bapas has recently changed its name to Brussels Belgian Bar & Bistro. Located on the ground floor of The H Hotel (just inside the main entrance), this little spot was surprisingly good. It has a nice warm feeling inside, with dark wood tables, ambient lighting, and unique decor. I assumed the food would not be much more than pub grub, but it was decidedly more upscale than that. We tried a few of the "bapas", which I can only assume is short for "Belgian Tapas", because that's exactly what they were. We tried the Belgian fries with 3 different dipping sauces, half pot of mussels in cream sauce (which was actually huge, enough for 3 easily), home made meatballs with tomato sauce and potatoes, panko fried shrimp, and calamari. Everything meet or beat my expectations. They also have a good selection of Belgian beers as you would expect, including Leffe Blonde and Leffe Brown, Hoegarden, and Stella (of course). Overall, good food, good service and good ambience. Absolutely worth checking out.
