About this business

Typically German in every way, Der Keller captures the rustic ambience of a beer cellar. The restaurant's menu offers a wide choice of hearty, traditionally German dishes including Schnitzel, Bismarck Herring and Nuernberger Rostbratwuerstchen with Sauerkraut.

I gotta agree with the guys below. This place is a pork and beer haven, although I think that's a prerequisite for any German restaurant. I went with the standard wiener schnitzel and it was a hearty meal indeed. The sauerkraut was really good, and the little side salad that came with it was a nice bonus. Great selection of German beers, too. The ambiance is very good, and I love the soft pretzels they bring as appetizers.

Only other German place that I have been to beside Brauhaus. This is just as good, maybe better. Had the Nieremberg sausages with mashed and sauerkraut. It was awesome. The service was very good. Highly recommend, but not for the faint of heart...big belt busting portions

Came here with a large group of friends and it was excellent, I think they have the best german food in Dubai. I had the pork knuckle with sauerkraut and it was glorious, also try their amazing pretzels. This place is also great because it has a homely feel to it and they serve the traditional 1 liter beers.

My German friends were hankering for the food of their homeland so we went here to have dinner. It is set in a windowless room on the 1st floor of JBH - this adds to the cellar like feel, but does make it feel a bit claustrophobic. All the food here is really heavy and huge portions - I had a veal schnitzel with mushroom sauce and cheese spaetzle, cannot tell you how bloated I felt after eating this lol! This place is great if it is winter and you need a good feed, or fancy some great comfort food.

The food is really nice, I had the pork knuckle, usually I have it boiled but for a change I asked to be crispy, that's all about my diet... Their Riesling is really nice, managed to finish a bottle myself, but they didn't have Williams pear snaps, booo! The manager was funny, she's kinda hyperactive! Was a good night overall, will go back for sure.

This place is fantastic, hands down the best German food in Dubai. I love this place because it is a small restaurant that gives you this old town German feel. There are plenty of German beers on draft to choose from and a good selection of German wines. I had the pork belly (see pic) which it came with sauerkraut and this breading pudding thing which was spot on. Service was great as well; the manager was super friendly…too friendly actually. Definitely will be coming back again and again.

If you enjoy pork and beer then this is the place for you. The pork knuckle and wheat beer are what I go back for everytime.

It's just funny that der Keller in Deutsch is cellar and Der Keller in JBH is in the 1st floor. It's great to dine here for some Schnitzel and beer of course. Order the Paulaner or an Erdinger if you're a newbie. They mostly call it “Der K” a very traditional German place, they will bring giant soft pretzels with cream-cheesey spread to start. Order single portion of wiener schnitzel and potatoes is enough for 2 at the end digest with a kirschwasser.Definitely it will be worth a visit. TIP: be nice to the Uzbeck waiters so they will bring more pretzels.

I love the cozy cellar ambiance of this place, the difference about it is that ;authentic german food and the crowd who are dining are not all loud as like in a usual restaurant. Even the bar itself has Hofbräuhaus mugs like in Munich. But the last time I was there, the service was not very attentive and didn't even have a clue of what was on the menu, so the chief chef himself came to help. But will still love their asparagus and Schnitzel.

This place feels exactly like i was back in Munich. The cellar like place, german beers, the beer mugs, the Schnitzels and sausages. Even the old german folks sitting queitly having their beers. The service is ok, since some of them are typical snob germans (which is normal*) . Sehr gut und werde ich zurückkommen !!
