About this business

This museum is a great place to gain insight in the history, culture and development of the Emirate. You visit the al-Fahidi fort with the traditional reed houses, but what I found most interesting was the modern extension that was built underneat the fort. So many authentic sounds and sights completed with moderne technology.

We went to this museum last week. For an amount of AED. 3 (adult), you'll get to know so much about Dubai. The place is well-organized and fascinating. I love that it is sectioned to what the community of Dubai can offer (Land, Sea, etc.). It showcases the history as well as the real culture of the place. I never thought educational trip can be so much fun and the staff are friendly and helpful too (especially the guard stationed inside who even volunteered to take a picture of me and my husband, thanks!). To go there, take bus number C7 if you go down to Al Ghubaiba Train Station. And as a bonus, you can go afterwards to Abra-Souk area, well, that's another fun part touring Dubai.

A great destination to visit in dubai only in 3 aed. Though it gives a tiny look from outside but its big enough from inside. Entrance is via an old fort, It showcases the history of the city. It will give you an insight into how Dubai was formed and developed over the years. Absolutely brilliant setups to show the development of various industries. But to find parking in this area is a nightmare. Its better to take a public transport to visit this place.

Okay this place is a must go whether your a tourist or living in Dubai.. its take you back in time how Dubai used to be, a great historical crash course in 30 mins like the other reviewer quoted. Overall its an old housed fort showcasing old houses, boats, cannon as well as artifacts excavated around Dubai. There are air-conditioned areas with video presentations of the city's growth from a small trading post to what it is now. Absolutely amazing.. A great place for kids for sure!

Dubai Museum hold a charm all of its own. It’s a small but well-organized museum nestled in the midst of Bur Dubai. The whole museum can be covered easily in 30 min. Its an interesting place to visit without expending much. The ticket is very cheap, 3 aed only. Nice place to learn more about the Emirati history. Unique and beautiful set ups to show the life of old days. Overall it’s a good and informative experience.

Rich arabian culture& tradition can be very well learnt and explored @ dubai museum , its built in the form of own monument , which makes u feel like you have entered into an entirely new era . The way they have reflected on pearl diving, ship building & jewellery in the early EMIRATES is quite commendable (y)

I always take new visitors to Dubai to the museum. For such a young country, it is really important to learn about the heritage especially as Dubai has come such a long way in 40 years, from its humble pearl fishing beginnings to where it is now. There is an interesting timeline program showing how the city was built, and artefacts from how the old Emirati bedouin tribes used to live. Highly rated to learn about how our City came about, and only 5AED to get in!
