This is the oldest Marriot in Dubai (not sure it’s a fact but they building looks that way), its located on Abu Baker Al Siddique Road, next to Hamarain Shopping Center. Had booked a Townsquare Guest room, double for AED 900 a night. The check in clerk was an incredible jerk, would not listen to our request when we asked for a wheel chair. I mean what could he possibly lose/gain from not providing paying guests with a wheel chair; your guess is as good as mine. Then amazingly he booked us a room which is furthest from any elevator and we have a person on crutches. That is how spiteful the person was. The place had old school opulence, a lot of people who are going and coming through as this is also situated between a building complex called Warba Centre that houses a lot of offices, and Hamarain Centre, so all the staff walk through the hotel in order to reach the mall to avoid the summer heat. The place was fine as far as hotels go but I would not be going back because the service is horrible, absolutely void of humanity. Dubai has no shortage of hotels, will not bother dealing with the inhumane – there is infinite choice out there.
