I was introduced to the ‘Pakistani Breakfast’ by my housemate, the concept of ‘curry’ for breakfast intrigued me. So we piled into the car 08.00 AM Saturday morning, slightly pale from a Friday nights over indulgence, off for our breakfast treat. After my housemate mate conversed with the waiter in Urdu, we were served with a breakfast buffet served within minutes, freshly fried eggs, keema, fresh daal, a tasty chickpea dish, paratha (plain and potato) and a curry (origin unknown, but really tasty)….accompanied by a non-stop flow of chai (boiled & brewed tea with rainbow milk)! The experience was delightfully tasty, and it has now become a regular occurrence….it makes a change to tea and toast….breakfast finishes at 09.30 so you need to get there well before to order…..it opens at 5.00 AM for the taxi driver shift/change over…..we sat in the family section primarily due to the other section being too busy but it also has larger tables to accommodate parties. And all only 78 AED between 4! We have also been in for dinner on a few occasions…daal is a regular event accompanied by whatever is cooking on the grill. They have a few western dishes on their menu worth a try, Butter Chicken is tastier than a western counterpart.
Definitely worth a visit, the happy and cheerful (yes they actually are) staff speak English to a good standard and are always willing to recommend good dishes off the menu! For me this has replaced Satwa Ravis as the preferred option.
