I have wanted to try Segreto for some time now, and finally got the chance to do so over the weekend. Overall, it was good, but there were some "interesting" points to note. It's connected to one of the hotels (Al Qasr, I believe), so there is definitely the hotel crowd there. Lots of kids, which I didn't really expect. The interior is very nice, but as a small mixed group, we found the setting to be a bit too romantic, although the noisy kids would have taken away from that to be sure. So we opted to wait to for one of their outside terrace tables, which are first come, first served after 7:00 p.m. This proved to be wise. It was still nice, but a little more relaxed and the weather was just excellent. The food was good. We started with the mushroom risotto balls as an appetizer. For the main, I had the veal cutlet (pictured) and it was very tender and just the right amount of crispy. I also tried bites of the bolognese pasta and the ribeye. Both were decent, but I definitely think my veal won the night. At AED 245, it was over priced, but with a discount or Entertainer voucher, it works out ok. Service was quite good and friendly. Not sure I'd rush back, but if an invitation came up, I certainly wouldn't turn it down.
