I bought Iftar deal for an Iftar at Cavendish & we're really looking forward to it. Hubby, I & friends enjoyed numerous dinner & drinks at Cavendish & Healy's before.
Healy's used to have a scrumptious menu which included this one of a kind juicy burger. I tell you just the thought of that burger still makes me all happy. I tried to re-create it ever since they overhauled their menu, sad for me, I couldn't get that magic up to par.
The last time I went to Cavendish with my friend, we had a fabulous ala carte dinner. I couldn't remember the full detail but I do remember the feeling of happily well fed.
Our recent meal at Cavendish yesterday to break fast seemed a little lacklustre. I couldn't quite point my finger at what caused the lukewarm ambience. Looking at all the photos we've taken, the buffet selection was good. It's not as elaborate as some other popular hotels but it's definitely more than a person can handle.
Lentil soup, bread selections (though I wish I found chilled butter somewhere), salads both Arabic & the usuals, mezzehs, more than one type of rice, viands of seafood, meat & veggies, good selection of desserts of fresh fruits, arabic sweets & a rich chocolate cake.
There was an Oud player that made our Iftar authentic, though sadly there weren't many patrons. Sometimes, crowd contributes to the ambience & it's probably what was lacking last night. A Mr Aboud took care of us well though.
We’ll dine ala carte again & will write another review.
