A couple of buddies and I booked a table at the Meat Co last night looking for some great steaks and they definitely delivered. We had a reservation for 8pm and got a call just as we walked in the door the Meat Co was packed full of people tucking in their food so we just managed to hold our table. The wait staff were really friendly and we ordered a couple of brewskys to kick off the night and got down to the tough decisions about which country and cut we were going to get our steaks from. I selected the Premium Wagyu Beef Marble from the Connoisseur's Choice and the rest of the crew staggered between Argentinian, USA and Australian options. You get to choose a side with the meat and we mixed that up to offer the table a better selection between mash potato, chips, salad and vegetables. We decided to go with the theme of the night (meats and world cup) and ordered an Argentinian red wine to pair with mains. The food took only about 25 minutes to arrive as most of steaks were ordered rare and straight off the serving station they looked amazing. A few seconds later when the 1st piece of juicy, succulent and oh so tasty red meat passed through my lips, I was hooked. The conversation around the table lulled as 4 grown men demolished steak dinners and paused for the occasional red win sip and that cheeky grin that we were in our element. I didn't need any sauces or mustard's with my Wagyu Beef as the taste was just so sensational straight off the pan. As a note, the marbling was quite heavy and in parts the steak had some fatty parts to it which was expected with the cut. Overall, service was great, ambiance was rocking and the food was spot on!
