My younger brother studies here, and is about to 'graduate' because it only offers classes between KG 1 and Grade 6. The schools follows the British-based Oxford syllabus so it's quite competitive. So much so I've never seen a kid my brother's age work so hard for the grades! Which is both good and bad- my family does wish they'd lower the burden and go easier on the kids. But to be fair, it does offer an excellent base in terms of primary schooling, has a really nice multi-cultural environment and above all- is very very affordable. No wonder the school is thronged by applications each year, most of which are rejected because it's still a small, community school.
Hope they keep maintaining that penchant 'for excellence', but we've got to admit- the new teachers coming in really lowering the standards of education here. Oh well, that's a common woe among schools in the UAE these days.
