Nice attractive place for families with kids and good for school field trip. Out from the noise of city, nice cool, wide open area with some bedouin tent style sitting areas, kids soft play area & rides, yachts....everything quite fascinating for those who want to enjoy the family time or with friends. Aquarium entrance fee is worth, some restaurant and a souvenir shop is also there. Aquarium has large variety of fishes, nice experience to see and learn about them.

This is a beautiful place to visit whether with family or friends. There is a massive variety of fish and upon inquiring from one of the guides, one can get to learn a lot about them. It's also a great hotspot for field-trips by school students as my younger brother visited the place one and was quite overwhelmed. The entry fee is minimal in comparison to the experience it has to offer, in fact, I think it's just as good as the aquarium in Dubai Mall and others throughout the country!

I never thought I have some place like this in my neighborhood. It was a great experience as we enjoyed and learned at the same time about the marine environment of the emirate through its displays of a wide variety of local fish species. For only AED 20 for adults and AED 10 for children, any body at all ages will surely enjoy this cool aquarium. From the lobby you will see huge models of whales hanging from the ceiling. Rare fishes and colorful ones are gracefully swimming under their beautifully constructed habitat. I love the view through the tunnels and over bridges. The aquarium is also decorated with some old Arabian boats and huts. At the end of the tour, there is a section where colorful fish photographs are artistically displayed on the wall. This area is perfect too for pictorials. A gift shop is also there where you can find lots of cute stuffs perfect for a gift or just a keepsake. I purchased a home décor green leather-made turtle model. After the tour, we had our lunch at Sammach where they are serving fresh local seafood next to the sea and the reef. I love the tasty fish tajin and my husband loves the grilled seabream. Prayer room is also available inside. It was a beautiful day for us. Lovely way to create more unforgettable family memories!

I supervised a class of thirty five 4-5 year old kids on a school trip to the Sharjah Aquarium when I worked as a kindergarten school teacher a couple years ago. Both the adults and the young ones enjoyed the trip very much and specially the kids, they were fascinated by the different kinds of fish. One thing which stood out for them were the "glow in the dark" Jellyfish. I deffinately recommend the Sharjah aquarium to everyone, its a very cool place to take your kid to. You'll be glad you did once you see the excitement and fascination in the child's face.

You may need a tour guide to understand different fish types and their behavior, otherwise you will just enjoy watching its lovely colors. Good but not as good as Aquaventure Atlantis. Great for kids.
