Project Cupcake
03/08/2014

Quite easy to find in Dubai Mall, this cupcake-ry offers the staples - Chocolate, red velvet, etc... The one to try would be the Nutella one, although the double chocolate and red velvet can hold their ground as well. Priced at 14dhs a pop, there are better options placed around the mall but it would rate decently if you were just passing by. It isn't a store I would go to the mall for, but if I had just one critique it would be the icing. It isn't anything to write home about and honestly, they could do much much better. Lesser icing sugar, substitute your shortening for a nicer butter base and switch to the original vanilla essence and your cupcakes would be purrrfect!

Fraiche Cafe & Bistro
03/08/2014

Brillilance! Absolute Brilliance! Someone finally got it right! Lovely food accompanied by good service and pub-bistro ambiance. The Steak sandwich is a favorite of mine, along with the coffee and the nutella mousse! Although the menu is constantly changed around depending on the season, if they do have it on the menu - you should definitely try the Ossobuco with risotto. This is by far, one of the best ossobuco's I've had in Dubai.

They recently started running a brunch promo on the weekends for 65dhs, which is a great price to try a new cafe. The breakfast, i.e. eggs, etc.. and the coffee are made to order while they have a lovely spread for fruits, cereals, jams and breads.

Nofara Cafe
03/08/2014

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible! I have tried several things at Nofara from the soup to the sandwiches, salads and the mains. Nofara has only 2 saving graces - the shishah corner (which is quite decent) and their salad. Unless, you are fond of not finishing your food and being deceived by the sound of their mains, stick to the salad. The food is always inconsistent, sadly. I would definitely go back to Nofara for the shishah and a coffee.... maybe.

The White Room Spa
03/08/2014

White Room is fantastic! As simple as that! I have never so comfortable in a salon where everyone is so pleasant to deal with. There is no fussing, no loud chattering, no uncomfortable smells, no weird questions about your love life!!! They are quite decently priced. They charge 220 for a Full body wax, which is the market price and their basic mani-pedi's are priced at 110, which is what you should be paying anyway. Currently, they are running a promotion that I absolutely love - you can pick 3 services (out of a list) for 155dhs. My picks are the Mani-Pedi & 30mins neck and back massage :D I wouldn't dare move to another parlour after White Room. Worth every single fil!

Sweet Brasil
03/08/2014

This tiny little JLT gem with a big appetite for amazing desserts has earned it's spot in my list of guilty pleasures. Always convenient to get to, plenty of free parking. My top picks here are the Brigadeiro cake with a cup of brazilian black coffee. Tip: Sip on your coffee first, before biting into the cake. They pair up like a match made in heaven! The little bites they have are lovely too... I love the coxhinas and the cheese one! Enjoy!

Moti Roti
08/09/2013

To be honest, I've been waiting to try Moti Roti so that I can write this review... Needless to say, the Roti was phenomenally filling but light. I had initially ordered for a Chicken Tikka Roti but settled for Masala Chicken one, since they ran out. The Roti alone is priced at 15dhs, but combine it with a Lassi and you'd be shelling out 20dhs only!

Although, the delicious curry kind of sunk to the bottom - it was still a pretty darn good 'healthy' meal combined with the Skimmed Yoghurt Mango Lassi which was just right - not too sweet not too heavy. I have been looking for decently priced restaurants that serve Salads, but I think I'm confident that Moti Roti can fill in that gap for me! Cannot wait to try their Chicken Spinach on Tuesday!

MMA Fitness Center
25/08/2013

Initially, I signed up for a 12-month package that cost about 250dhs a month. I lost about 8 kilos in 4 months with MMA Fitness, my cardio was up by 40% and my body fat percentage reduced drastically! My days at the Discovery Gardens branch were so much fun! The trainers are friendly, super supportive and will encourage you to keep going when every cell in your body says otherwise. My first Circuit Training class, I barely made it through the first circuit. But, within a few weeks and a strict 'no-quitting' policy I was actually starting to enjoy MMA. (Ladies, this is a brilliant way for you to learn how to defend yourself!)

Easily, my favorite gym in dubai - With classes for Beginners and as well as Experienced Athletes, from hardcore Kick Boxing to the fun and easy Zumba - Everyone can find their own recipe for Fitness Success at MMA Fitness. It's a darn shame that I live 45 minutes away and they don't have branches where I live :(

Fibber Magee's
25/08/2013

One of Dubai's hidden little gems, Fibbers is quite the treat! More than warm folk around, the food is brilliant, so is their service. They will always be my favorite place to grab a pint and watch a good Chelsea game!

Spin Dubai
25/08/2013

Having had high hopes for this 'NEW' concept, I can say that it was quite disappointing. The ambience and atmosphere were severely mismatched to the energy in the room. My friends and I just hopped on over to Seville's for Sangria instead. Maybe Dubai needs to really accept this place. It's a shame that it wasn't as enjoyable that we hoped.

Bu Qtair Cafeteria
02/04/2013

Definitely a childhood favorite for me! Get there by 7pm if you do not fancy waiting in line to order and then another line to get a table, followed by the wait for your food :) Simple, super fresh seafood marinated in the most typical Indian Spices, Deep fried by a kind, multitasking champion of a South Indian Chef -accompanied the softest parathas and a yummy home-style curry! Would eat there for the rest of my life!
