Bystro recently opened on the same street as Crumbs Elysee, Reem Albawadi and Jones the Grocer. The restaurant is bright and open with clean lines, wood accents and a modern design. I got into chatting to the owner who used to work at Jones the Grocer. He's passionate about fresh ingredients and the menu has an Italian influence due to his time spent in Italy. It feels like a family restaurant and his wife is the interior designer. Very welcoming and friendly environment which is always a plus in Dubai.Apart from being a restaurant, Bystro also has a retail section with freshly baked goods that range from Italian pastries to cakes. They also have a deli counter with sandwiches and salads. For lunch we had the burrata, the smoked salmon, the quinoa salad and the shredded chicken salad followed by the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I loved everything, however my favourite was the burrata as the balsamic dressing gave it a nice flavour and they put foccacia bread crumbs on top which gives it a nice texture and makes it different. They smoke their salmon in-house and it was really tasty. The managers are Italian and really friendly. I would definitely recommend Bystro for breakfast or lunch.
