Adidas
05/02/2014

If you are a girl and looking for stylish ski gear, this is one option - they carry Stella McCartney for Adidas and there are few ski styles in Stella's brand. I bought a suit few years back and came to see what else I can find, I do like Stella for athletic clothes. So I got a new pair of gloves and an awesome neck warmer.

Burton
05/02/2014

Unless you know this place, shopping for skiing gear can get frustrating in Dubai. Most of the sport shops have very limited and for the most unattractive selections. I needed to update my equipment before my ski trip to Alps and I've waisted hours in the mall generic sport shops before I remembered Burton! Burton has great styles, good variety, most of the accessories - it's a one-stop shopping and who doesn't like that.

The Odd Piece
17/12/2013

The Odd Piece had launched in Dubai about a year ago, I think I've reviewed them before. They are now fully operational boutique, part of Al Wasl Square, selling refurbished antique furniture. Arwa, the Founder and Creative Director has a particularly good taste for unique pieces with character and unforgettable feel. I love the balance of furniture, lighting fixtures and accessories she's created in her boutique, even though collection is small. If you are looking for something with history, style and personality for your house - this is once place to check. Prices are fare and all I can say is I wish I had a bigger home to decorate, so I canget the massive light fixtures -

Pizzaro
14/12/2013

Had the Buffalino pizza for lunch at Barsha location and it's shocking how good it was. Crust is thin and crunchy but not overly dry, toppings are spot on without overwhelming each other and size is great for two. Completely in love with the pizza. Home delivery is obviously available and I might try it - hello fatness.

Bait Al Bahar
14/12/2013

This place is so amazing you actually don't want to talk about it too much. Beach front cafe (as in directly on the beach) just around the corner from the Sailing Club. Makes a fantastic break during the lunch hour, especially if you manage to get the lounge spot facing the sea. Absolutely surreal ambiance. Food is homy and portions are very generous. Mixed jumeirah crowd at night for shisha.

Roberto's Ristorante
14/10/2013

Been many times and it's grown on me. Really grown on me. If you work in DIFC you will end up being here a lot, since it's among the top three after-work-spots along with LPM and Zuma. I have had a poor oily experience with pasta twice when Roberto has just opened, but tasted it recently and it was excellent! They know their oisters, fish and seafood - if it's your fist time safely go for these options. Entire appetizer menu is immaculate.
Great ambiance with massive windows and DIFC and Burj views, great separation between the bar space and dining options. Do book if you need a specific spot in the restaurant, they are very busy every day of the week.

Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah
14/10/2013

Beautiful, elegant and classy - stayed over last weekend and absolutely loved it. It's beautifully designed with use of white marble, glass, crystals, murals, stencils and massive ceilings; open sea views are perfect, great service, great wine list at the lobby and Hamra golf in walk distance - I am definitely going back soon.

Mercure Grand Hotel Jebel Hafeet
14/10/2013

My first time exploring famous Jebel Hafeet road, 11 km long with 21 turns and going up 4,000 square feet - it's great fun both on the way and down. There are 2 lanes going up and one descending - we have taken the trip up right before the sunset, had a drink at the hotel at sundown, then back down in the dark. Wow. Beauty. Serenity. Tranquility and actually pretty romantic. You will find few parking stops along the road, take advantage and get some photos. Much recommended if you are in the area.

TOMO
14/10/2013

Here last week for lunch and going tomorrow night for dinner - I can't get enough of TOMO. With weather settling into winter mode patio will be incredible, how many places in Dubai can boast 360 view of the city! Everything I have ever ordered and put in my mouth in this place has been exquisite. Try to experiment if you are out for dinner and get waiters to surprise you with choices - believe me it's great fun and culinary adventure. Once you've been few times, chef will know you, what a character he is. I have been spoiled, almost each time I came he sent something small and special over - last time a grilled fatty tuna roll that exploded with flavor and pretty much sealed my long term relationship with this place. Best kept not any more secret, if you still haven't been, go.

La Serre Bistro & Boulangerie
26/09/2013

My new favorite restaurant. Been for breakfast and few times for dinner - each time is better than the last. Great ambiance and very elegant setting, absolutely love the white decor, the round tables and window views. It is spacious but not overly, offering bit of intimacy if you take tables near the window. Smoking is only at the bar. I can't think of anything i don't like about La Serre. Was here for group dinner on Tuesday and apart from absolutely exquisite food and wine experience we enjoyed a live band that apparently is here every Tuesday and Wednesday night. We even slow danced a little ("ruined the restaurant" as my friend said). The band and the singer were such a treat. Here is menu choices from my A list: grilled scallops, smoked salmon carpaccio(crazy crazy good, double order), tuna carpaccio, grilled aubergine, grilled asparagus with truffles, rigatoni pasta with truffles, crusted cod, their steak. If you drink red wine try Grand Cru Chateau Batailley 2007. Rum baba and apple tart was a revelation. Tiramisu is also amazing. My place to go, love everything.
