Lovely mall cafe/restaurant with some nice dishes. Decor and atmosphere is different to what you usually get in a mall cafe, its more plush and decadent. Service was good and food arrived within acceptable time. Main's are more expensive than you may want to spend for a quick lunch but there are some cheaper soup/sandwich options.

My favourite nail place. Excellent service and awesome massage whilst having nails done. Has got much busier since it first opened last year, so always good to book in advance. The ladies are lovely and atmosphere is good. I always treat myself to a sneaky hot chocolate too! Enjoy!

Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa
04/08/2014

Spent the day here for my birthday, it's like being transported to Thailand. A totally different feel to Dubai, lovely pool and atmosphere. It was 250AED per person which isn't cheap but ok for a treat. We spent the day in the lagoon rather than the main pool in the middle. Very relaxing and great to wind down. The pool rooms and pool villas on the beach look fab with a great view over the ocean, palm and back to the city. I have heard great things about the Australian restaurant here too which is on my list to try out!

BOUNCE INC Free Jumping Revolution

Love Bounce! Great idea and way to entertain kids and adults over the summer. For one person 80AED isn't much but when you take your kids with you it can get pricey for 1 hour! The whole concept is fab and you are given grip socks to wear. There are several areas, the normal trampoline area, ball game (can't remember the name of it), jump onto a huge air bag, bouncey basketball hoops and a parkour bounce type zone. It's more tiring than you think and you definitely work up a sweat! Lets hope more awesome concepts like this are set up in dxb.

Fraiche Cafe & Bistro

Went for the breakfast 65Aed deal. Nice little place in JLT, lovely breakfast options, yummy egg's benedict with some good coffee, also some cereals and pastries available. Good value for money. We also tried the poutine, not very healthy but yum!

Great place to take visitors to see the fountains and Burj Khalifa. Food is excellent but on the pricey side as expected in this location. Lovely cocktails and also a wine tasting menu which was sampled by some of my friends. The tasting menu was well presented and good sized portions that didn't leave you feeling completely bloated even after 6 courses! I think the decor could do with a bit of creativity, it's a bit bland but definitely a nice place to go downtown with good quality thai food.

Great to finally see a originally decorated, down to earth funky licensed restaurant with awesome food. I was pleasantly surprised by the good quality and variety of food on the menu. Lots of amazing furniture, vintage items and artistic elements to look at around the venue and also a separate bar area. Great view too! Will definitely be going back and strongly recommend.

Yas Island Rotana Hotel
29/07/2012

I have stayed here for business and pleasure many times. Great hotel and nice location on Yas Island. Gets busy at the weekends and over any special events happening on the island. Breakfast is big and sumptuous and is heaving over EID or National Day. I have never seen some people load their plates up so much for brekkie and then leave most of it to waste!! There are several good restaurants, the steak restaurant is good and does what it says on the tin. I love the underground style bar with the concrete ceiling. Very funky and a nice terrace to sit out on in the winter months. You can get excellent rates as the island is quiet unless there is an event on. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend making a visit for a weekend break or if you are working on the island and need a place to rest your head.

Aloft W Hotel

Great hotel to stay at if you are visiting or working at ADNEC. Very relaxed and informal atmosphere, mostly business travelers staying here. Lovely big pool and terrace area. Great lounge bar on the roof which gets busy in the winter. Always a good venue after big events at ADNEC. The rooms are quite basic and a bit dreary but do the job. They have a nice little shop where you can buy sandwiches and snacks from as there is no room service, makes it more affordable too. There are lots of funky and quirky touches around the hotel which is refreshing to see in the UAE alongside all the fancy pants hotels.

I have been here for both lunch and dinner. It is an average Italian with the usual suspects on the menu. Slightly over priced for what the restaurant actually delivers. I suppose you are paying for the name. The food is good but nothing special. They have a private room which is good for business style lunches and dinners. The decor is nice and welcoming. They have a musician that plays a night which is a nice touch. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, but don't listen to all the hype.
